Updated Proposal Overview - Erasmus+ European Knowledge Alliance for “Accelerating Diffusion Systems for Manufacturing Innovations in Enterprises” (ADSMIE)

Dear all, please find a relatively solid draft of the planned proposal at this link HERE, although there are a number of important open sections that are work in progress. After significant reflection and review of relevant information sources this is now the baseline for the proposal.

 If you are interested in formally committing to join us please note:
  1. Each work package (WP) is owned by a pair of consortium members with mentoring structure. The WP manager / researcher (mentee) must be an early career researcher from a COST Target Inclusiveness Country, while the WP researcher (mentor) must be an experienced researcher from a non-COST Target Inclusiveness Country.
  2. Each WP must be supported part time by a suitable industry enterprise regionally co-located with the WP manager / researcher.
  3. Each WP can also be supported by further researchers from other alliance members.
  4. Each WP owner will / can also support other work packages so that we design for full time positions during the complete project duration.
Suggested work package details will be issued as quickly as possible. Note that consortium members may assume multiple roles in multiple work packages. All work will be disseminated for public access under “public domain” intellectual property classification. Final WP details (including resourcing) are funding dependent.

What you need to do after reviewing this overview inform me by November 15th latest:
  • Which work package would you like to assume co-ownership of?
  • Which industry enterprise will you bring along? (Please validate suitability with me)
  • Which work packages would you like to only “support”?
While there are a number of conversations occurring in parallel there is room for many adjustments. Your confirmation of participation will then result in a formal invitation letter to your organization (and the industry enterprise you are bringing along) with relevant registration details. If we are successful in gaining funding then relevant positions can of course also be hired for if desired.

If you commit to a role in the project we will also expect you to pro-actively take ownership in fleshing out your work package before mid-December 2019 and several reviews of the proposal as a whole.

Regardless of what project year your work package is formally planned for, if the project is funded, you will be expected to participate (and be compensated for this) in all collaboration efforts during the complete project duration.

This series of blog posts describes the principles relevant for designing an innovation for rapid adoption by 84% of a target group. 84% adoption is the threshold for achieving sustainable change. The underlying theory stems from the "invisible college" around Rogers, E.M. (2003) “Diffusion of Innovations.” which reminds us that adopters are grouped as Innovators 2%, Early Adopters 14%, Early Majority 34%, Late Majority 34% and Laggards 16%. Designing innovations (and the change intended by them) to reach the Late Majority is a very different game than that typically "played" (which actually only focuses on the Innovators and Early Adopters). Forecasting Whole Life Cycle Cost Uncertainty of EU Municipalities - Consolidator/Marie Curie Proposals

Summer Update – Now earning a warm meal a day and suffering from indigestion!

  Hi everyone – greetings from the Open European Network for Enterprise Innovation team and perhaps a long-awaited update on where we have been, are and are going. We have admittedly been rather quiet over the past months – not for lack of having anything to share as you will see, but more from finally getting traction in a number of projects, commercializing enough to buy us a warm meal a day and realizing that we need to have small meals to prevent indigestion with ensuing frustration.
