In ActFaster! we are
creating a proposal under the Horizon Europe program to help protect cities and
municipalities each other by sharing information on cyberattacks experience by
a member with all other members in a secure, anonymous, and rapid manner based
on HUMAN trust and advanced collaboration technologies. We are reaching out to
you to ask whether you would like to apply to join our proposal and share your
success stories to make it a really good one! While we are focused on the EU we
will be reaching out to Cities worldwide as well to learn from what they are
doing.
ActFaster! is based
on a simple story that occurs daily and that will be legalized, amplified and
scaled. Let us take a look at the story. The story starts with YOU. One of your
staff members is John and he works in the Security Operations Centre of your
city. Your City is unfortunately hit by a cyberattack and John informs you.
After receiving the message and getting all necessary actions launched, you
call Paul and tell him about what is happening. Paul is the CISO at another
city and your friend. You call him to warn him of what is happening in your
city, are worried that he mght also be attacked and suggest he prepare his
defenses. Paul is really grateful for your warning and launches all necessary
activities. Once Paul is done, he calls his friend Amy who is CISO at another
city and warns her. Paul and Amy are obviously also calling other friends. Mike
is also a CISO but unfortunately not a friend of yours, Paul or Amy or their
friends. If Mike is not warned his City will probably not be prepared for the
attack and hence suffer the consequences. Can we help Mike? ActFaster! helps
Mike and us in various ways.
ActFaster! helps Mike
by allowing him to become a friend with the others via technology and via a
research based Social Diffusion Model which we have developed and that ensures
he can be trusted by the others AND that he can trust them. This model is
activated on a blockchain and AI enabled secure and anonymous messaging
platform. Mike registers to become a member, is manually validated and
assimilated into the trustful social system that Actfaster! supports. ActFaster!
helps us by legalizing, amplifying and accelerating the diffusion of sensitive
knowledge across ecosystems of cities. Actfaster! also helps us trust the
advice we receive enough to actually launch into relevant treatments. A good
analogy might be the Corona apps we have all come to know. Actfaster! allows
for “infected” organizations to notify friends securely, anonymously, and
rapidly – it will of course be up to us to listen and make our decisions. ActFaster! also ensures that any
notifications are verified by cybersecurity experts before others are notified.
Actfaster! is about creating high quality, trustworthy information that allows
actionable interventions.
In a first step we
are running semi-structured interviews with city representatives. The results
will flow into the proposal. We are also running a pilot community where you
can join for a small fee and experience the benefits of joining the proposal
and its implementation. Note that in the proposal itself you will not need to
contribute funding and will not receive funding. Please do review this invitation
and reach out to me at oliver.schwabe@innovation-web.eu for scheduling an
interview – we expect the interview to need about 90 minutes of your time and
are looking to run a small number of very high-quality sessions in complete
confidence of course.
