The Open European Network for Enterprise Innovation in High Value Manufacturing (ENTOV-HVM) hereby invites student teams of any size and from any faculty and sponsored by their professors at universities located within the EU28 member nations to participate in the 2020 Business Case Competition.
The panel will be chaired by Professor Piero
Formica (Professor, Senior Research Fellow, Innovation Value Institute,
Maynooth University, Ireland) and further panel participants currently are Professor
Leif Edvinsson (New Club of Paris, Sweden), Dr. Sami
Kazi (Senior Principal Scientist, Research Strategy and Foresight at VTT, Finland)
and Lynne Schneider (CEO Entovation International Ltd., USA).
ENTOV-HVM aims at strengthening Europe's
innovation capacity and at fostering innovation in higher education, business
and the broader socio-economic environment of the European Union by
identifying, developing, and sustainably implementing measures to disruptively
accelerate the value creation of innovative ideas in high value manufacturing
from inception to late adopters and laggards in markets at individual,
organizational and systemic levels.
The business case study competition will be
held in September 2020 as a virtual event hosted by ENTOV-HVM. The competition
will consist of student teams from multiple universities across Europe
evaluating an industry case study in order to then compete in recommending
actionable and “Next Practice” research-based interventions for achieving the
value proposition thereof.
Participating teams will be trained in relevant
analysis approaches and then collaborate online (with expert guidance) over a
three-week period in order to arrive at recommendations. The recommendations
will be presented to, and evaluated by, an Evaluation Panel consisting of
seasoned representatives from industry and research, including participants of
the case study itself.
Results of the competition will form the basis
for the submission of a paper to a leading international research journal and
shape scholarship grant requests for the winning team participants if desired.
The winning team will furthermore receive a cash prize and the opportunity to
run a six-week Living Lab at a selected industry partner of ENTOV-HVM for a
theme of their choice.
We look forward to hearing from you and more details will be published over the coming weeks.
