WP 8 Discover and Launch Ideas in a Structured Manner (incl. Innovation Diffusion Monitoring Radar).

Dear all - this is a refined draft of the EIGHTH Erasmus+ Knowledge Alliance Workpackage with a focus on industrial whole product lifecycles. Comments appreciated as we work to refine and align with the potential workpackage owner. Please note that the supporting workpackages are intended for project participants either owning other workpackages or interested in supporting workpackages only. If you are interested in a supporting workpackage please contact oliver.schwabe@innovation-web.eu - you will be expected to contribute to shaping this and your own workpackage.

Description

This final implementation workpackage applies the results of all previous workpackages across the network to identify, launch and monitor the progress of ideas through the whole product lifecycle. The aim of the workpackage is to enable longer term tracking of ideas designed for rapid diffusion from ideation to market saturation including ongoing refinement of the project deliverables themselves. This longer term monitoring will then also be subject of a separate follow-on proposal.  The workpackage will conduct a total of 12 events at each of the six participating manufacturing companies and six participating higher education institutions, whereby participation is opened to other interested parties in the project network and the region where the effort is being conducted. The events will be follow-ups to the events delivered in workpackage 7.

Tasks

The estimated start date is month #30 of the project and the estimated end date is month 36 of the project, although the team will continue to support other workpackages during the complete duration of the project. All tasks will be made transparent to the public as open access and public domain. The tasks of the workpackage are:
  • Review and adapt design guidelines for ideas provided by workpackage 6 based on experiences in workpackage 7.
  • Prepare one day events with a focus on structured ideation and diffusion monitoring at six participating manufacturing organizations and six participating higher education institutions considering the results of all previous workpackages.
  • Conduct one day events at six participating manufacturing organizations and six participating higher education institutions.
  • Finalize design guidelines and simulator.
  • Develop and implement innovation monitoring diffusion radar for ideas.

Deliverables

The deliverables are outcomes of the tasks and will be made available in the public domain.
  • Revised design guidelines for ideas.
  • Conduct one day events at six participating manufacturing organizations and six participating higher education institutions.
  • Finalize design guidelines and simulator.
  • Implement innovation monitoring diffusion radar for ideas.

Resourcing

This workpackage will run for 6 consecutive months and will be primarily resourced by two full time researchers.  Six supporting workpackages of 160 hours each support conducting the workpackage.
