High Level View of Innovation Web Archetypes


Since the previously published views of the innovation web archetypes was too detailed for a small conference paper I am working on we created this high level overview you might find helpful.

Key webs and roles are shown in the circular shapes and (in-) tangible value is transacted between roles as shown by the open green & blue dotted boundaries of such. The use of the dotted boundary lines instead of exchange arrows does a lot to simplify the story and these boundaries also need to be seen as "open" (versus "closed") from a systems perspective.

The second innovation web archetype of relevance is the “socialization web”, which is also called the “community” web. The socialization web archetype is web archetype is a web of relationships which evolves out of the research web archetype as the research and / or innovation crystalizes and begins reaching early stage practitioners / evangelists in organizations. It consists of tangible and intangible exchanges between the researchers and / or innovators, the users, marketeers and product packagers. The research web archetype continues to “operate”.
